Very nice place! The residents love this place and the staff and everyone is like a big family. Very clean place and great co-workers. Highly recommended!
I was only required to spend a week here doing clinical hours. Many of the beds were not properly cleaned after being soiled and there is very little for the residents to do. Watched the nurse send a lady back to her room while she pleaded to sit in the lobby with the other residents because it was "too crowded". Pretty sad that they don't seem to ever be allowed outside either. The holiday decor is totally fabulous tho!
Staff is very helpful & professional . You can see they truly care about the residents. The residents love them too. They seem very happy. The environment is so lovely with beautiful decorations for the holidays. A fun, clean, & wonderful home.
i had clinicals here and i am completely disgusted and pissed off that the staff even has jobs there. i experienced first had them yelling at the patients blatantly saying that "they have diapers on don't take them to the bathroom". they couldn't care less about the residents there or their well being. they do the bare minimum and treat these wonderful residents like prices of garbage. i genuinely cried for all of these residents i do not know because of the mistreatment and neglect happening here. DO NOT let your family friends or anyone go here. i wish i could give less stars than just one because they deserve way less.
Worked with Village while attending school for my certification in Long Term Care and Home Health and didn't have the most pleasant experience. We were not allowed to speak to the nurses, as "they didn't want to be bothered" or show compassion by sitting in with a resident when requested. We witnessed force feeding on patients that were unable to feed themselves or were "eating too slow" and told to take some back to the room when they wanted to sit by a window or vice versa. The charge nurse also carried a can of Crisco around when doing her rotation and also left some in a cup in the shower. This can only be assumed that it is being used on residents directly and improperly as it shouldn't be used at all. I had one patient that was complaining of a runny nose and when I personally asked for more tissues on her behalf, it was immediately denied. There was also a small building in the back that no one had an explanation for and residents were also not allowed outside. To the families of considering Village.. I understand it may seem like a nice stay on the outside, caring even with all the decorations. But have a look inside, get a feel of the atmosphere and decide with your gut feeling whether or not this is really a place you would like to take a chance with. Money IS an important factor when it comes down to it but I promise you, if you're looking for professional, safe and free of neglect care, it is NOT likely that you will find it here. Do not do it.
